Emotional Setting

In the novel "Of Mice and Men", the emotional setting is quite caring and heartly like father to son. The story starts out from the bus and then down to the swamp place that they were eating. Then they move into the place to meet their new boss. Throughout the story you could feel this very caring and father to son atmopshere. George is more superior towards Lennie. George gives Lennie orders on things to do or not to do because he couldn't take care of himself. Simliar to how a father disciplines his son on things allowed and not allowed. George also yell and scream at him like a unsult to get him on his track. Lennie would take in the insult and try his best on remembering it or becomes puzzled. George also applause Lennie when he remembered soemthing. For example the time where they were about to go to the boss, Lennie remembered not to say a word and George was pleased with is performance at the camp fire. Besides that, it also have a love, caring but somehow hopeless feeling in the atmosphere. George couldn't go live his life, his tied up to this huge rock that he have to took care of. Lennie is like a baby, a lost puppy that just couldn't be let go. George couldn't abandon him in the forest or the cave. However his heart still takes care of Lennie, a caring personality is around them. There's also tensiona and dangerous mood whenever somehow look at Lennie. From the part of the boss to curly, its all anger towards the big guy and trying to test him. The reader can get a sweat from from what George wouldd do to take out the conflivt.

Magic Pictures

P 359 the picture with the wierd creepy sun hand. This is a really picture but somehow do connect to the feeling of magic realism. Magic realism have the magical things inside the settings oridinary for the people. When normal people walks over the wierd hand they would stare or normally feel wierd about it. In the picture, the people on top kind of just do their things. Nothing seems strange to them. Below the picture, its 3 minature man on the fish. This is magical things as well, man sitting on a flying fish? That's unusual and not something that we ecounter everyday. I find the faces of the people really wierd and disturbing, even the fish looks kind of odd. I couldn;t relate the story back to this picture, not in any way in term of ideaology. Maybe the wierd man on fish is like the old man with enormous wing. Being beat down by men. This seems like a picture that just squashed random stuff together. maybe the artist that did this sculpture is the same that did the sun hand. because i find their face kind of connected together. However i still find this very very scary. The faces could probably give me nightmares.

Magic Realism

I'v never had any trouble imagening things. Magic realism is like fantasy, where people let their wildest imaginations grow and invent things themselves. Have some fun and mess with the character while they read. I could imagine the whole story while i read whituout a problem. Some peole couldn't read books like these and think they are stupid. I believe these people tend to read alot less than normally what people whould read. Reading is a pleasure, a way where you control the story and how everything is like. If you watch a cartoon, there's no imagination going on in your brains. The images are provided for you and limiting you froming changing the scene. Watching a tv or reading a comic book also limits your imagination. The less you read, the more unfamiliar youw ill be when it comes to imagening a scene and stepping into your own world. I've always had an wild imagination, however i do know some people who doesn't like to read books and feels my books are dumb. Like my sister, she never reads any book. It would be 3 month for 1 book about another love story. She never liked reading, and often times when we told her to picture something in her mind she couldn't do it. Picturing something in minds are like reading a story including fantast stuffs. Magic realism provides almost all the things from a fantasy novel into the real world. A angel would be ordinary, a dragon would e something for food everyday life. The more one reads, the more one gets familiar with the subject and the more imaginative creations they can create. The less one reads, the more unusual they will find the settings and the creatures are. Confused and puzzled by the surroundings or people, they will get bored since they don't understand anything.

The Unexpected

Nothing in my life really gets me scared, or possibly i haven't encounter anything blood dripping horrific. I encountered some very unusual situation in my house such as seeing or hearing really wierd noises but none scares me. The one thing that had made a strong impression in my life was the expierence that i got stuck inthe elevator. The expierence was someting that i could never threw it out of my head. It pops back everytime i have to ride an elevator. When i was about 7, i got stucked in the elevator for more than 4 hours alone in the dark. It was a terrifying expierence as the surrounding was full of mirrors. It provides you with a claustrophobic illusion of your own image everywhere. Staring at you and wandering aimlessly as the image will reflect one another from the other wall. The elevator consists of three large mirros from three sides and you can see yourself wherever you look. The image overlaps and continue in to somewhat a endless corridor that you can't stop. If i ever encouter this again, i would be a little extra calm, however, i don't think i could react any bit better. The fear of being stuck for another hopeless 4 hour waiting for rescue is terrifying. Alone in the dark makes the situation worse. I hated the expierence and it had always been a nightmare riding an elevator. I wonder if time would erase this nightmare, and i definetly wish it could.

Ode

I planned to have my ode about my nail. SO many people dislike my nails but i just don't get why, so i decidd to use my ode to explain all that's good about nails. The conveniance, the stylishness, the scratching and relaztiona and things such as cutting over a book or cover without using a scissor. I also loved to use it as a weapon. It is one of my top weapon choice when it is to fight someone. You can make your opponent in pain with long nails and pinching them or simply scratch their skin off. Convinant and usful whenever you're in the middle of trouble. I would also like to use some other topics such as women, but i find that a little too inappropriate with the things i might write.

Another P.O.V.

I've decided to use the scene with the police taking down Christopher. I will ne writing the story in the point of view of the police. I believe the part with the police could provide the most interesting thoughts and efvents that are happening in the scene. I portriat the police with a scene eating donuts first, fat and a bit grumpy. He would take Christopher as a wierd kid that would kill a dog. He would be in awe at such a gross scene where this kid holds the dog in his arm. His wierd attitude will piss the police off even more. Impatient and angry will result beating Christopher and he will jump up and attack him. The assault of Christopher wil further stikes up fury inside the poice's heart. He would probably view Chirstopher as a boy in puberty that's oppose to the whole world. Thinking that he could take a beating to calm him down and show him whose the boss. He does not know that he have a problem i nhis brain, and doesn't care.

Holiday Reality

To bad so sad, i wasn't here when u guys have this journal entry i think. However i did have an idea on what my trip into Japan would be. I thought it was suppose to be a trip full of girls and shopping, staring at hot girls arounde. In the end it was totally diffrent from i expectede. It ended up a food and animation trip. Half of the stuff i bought was about mangas. All the cloth such as pants or jackets had something i dont like on it. In the end the only pants i loved was too expensive for me to buy it. I was full 24/7 never hungried. Whenever i saw something looking good to eat i stopped and bought it. Next them items i bought was all about one piece and the famous japenese catoon 宮崎駿. The food was fantastic, however this trip was totally diffrent from what i thought i would be. The girls were not as hot as what i expected. My dad's friend's cousin's daughter was terrible, fat cubby little mean chatty girl which is totally opposite of what i thought would be. So it was totally diffrent.
