Project Reflection
I think the choice of our own book is wonderful. having assigned books at first and then in the end we have a free choice of book can really make us be interested in the story that we chose for ourselves. I love the book i chose. For the project, i definitly paid 100% effort in both reading the book and creating my project and essay. I spent 4 hours planning and drawing the boot and the kid on paper. After that, the feet took up 1 and a half hour to be cut, adjust and arranged on plastic board and finding the newspaper. The kid had to be specially cutted and controlled spry, speciall when i messed up on my poster paper a few times. I broke the reading time down for a easier way of gathering informations about the book. What's quite annoying is the book i reallysad while peaceful in the same time, since no acual actions was happening in the start of the book. Yes, i've read a book that i really liked and wanted to read, and i've always wanted to do a artworkon1984. Its a story that include so much idea inside, that any idea expressed would provide a strong image that can stand out by itself. Yes, i feel 1984 its a book full of knowledge, and i can learn a great deal on that. I wouldn't hate to read the book again next year, seeing so many idea are squeezed together, i could use a read again to refresh my mind and understand something new from the fantastic book.

911
Personally, i dont feel much about the 911 attack. I don't know if it is because i'm a american born citizen or because of my relatives aren't in the disaster. For me it's just another event that people die and suffer, There's already enough people dying around the world, think about the people dying in Africa or some rural parts of the world. Why aren't those places called ground zero or something? More people are dying over there, yet no one morned for them. I personally feel that the people that are suffering in Africa and other parts of the world are worst. They didn't had a time to live their lives, eat good foods, where the people that died in the 911 terrorist attack already had a chance to live their lives. They enjoyed while other people from Africa didn't. The attack changed the way buildings are build recently. New architecture with much safer and protection for people. I still don't get, then why aren't some of these money be all used to help develop other countries, and stop the suffering of people? With the death of Bin la din, i don't feel anything as well. Hatred lies among all events, i wish the people could forget about these events and stop the hate that have been evolving again and again from the Muslim world to the modern world. STOP THE HATRED AND LIVE YOUR LIVES GOD DAMMIT

Buried Alive
Suffocating death is probably the one most painful and fearsome for me. All of your senses are fully funtional, your breathing gets heavier and heavier, trapped and helpless. You know, when you will die and what wuld it feel like. When you suffer from cold or being kille by someone or something, the pain is either fast, or you are already numb. The sense of being choked and feeling the pain all the way until your dead is the most terrifying type of death to me. You struggle in the grave or the rubbles either staring to trapped situations or you suffocate while trying to crawl out your way to the livings. I heard a saying before, just when you're about to die, your whole life will flash in front of you and you will see all your mistakes again. I believethe only regret i will have if i died in this age, is now having sex, and express my love for family to my parents. My family never had this caringand respect among each other, we're like friends that cuss around and screw around and laugh. Its just i never get to say i love you or give a hug to any of them. I would want to expierence all the things that i find interesting and challenging, climbing the fuji mountain and listen to nujabes on the top, sky diving, learn 5 types of martial arts, travel europe and live anywhere. All these are the regrets i dont want to have when i died. In a time of crisis, i believe cooperating with one another is the way to survive. If i lived and leave a dying situation, i would still save people around me. I'm the type of person that wouldn't leave anyone behind in a expedition, so if im in a dying situation, i would think od saving other one except myself first.

Jargon
Krakaur used alot of different jargon in the story, such as the hilary step is a pace where only everest climbers know. Idderent jargons are used everywhere around the world. Jargons could be names or somehow nicknames that people uses. Such as the terms nerd, pimp, or jocks. For me, one of the places that i have used jargon most often was when i'm playing online games. While i'm playing online games, fighting a boss or channeling out strategies with different people, we call each boss or enemy a specific or quitestupid name that only people played the game would understand. These are like code names, its fast, simple, and when we use it during gameplay, its quite productive. It saves time for typing out the full name and ordering positions. Besides playing games, playin sports also have jargon. I believe jargons in playing sports are like the specific position of a person standing, i believe those counts as a jargon as well. Center, front, small front, or whichever base the people are calling. Either it is stealing a base or stealing the ball from another player, all seems to have its own specifc names called.

Risk for a Reason
I don't think everyone would just jump in the water to save someone that's drowning. I will save people, regardless of the danger, but only things that i'm capable of. If a kid drowned in a lake, i will strip off my top, take off my ipod and jump in the water immediately. Swimming is something that i'm good at, therefore i'm sure that i have the ability to save that someone who's drowning and bring them back up the shore or the side. Lots of people sacrificed their life when jumping off to save strangers, in fact, i believe we have already done this topic before already- -. After you saved someone, if feels natural to save another person, i don't know why but there is just this sympathy for other people that are suffering and you jump in the water again. I forgot what reminded me this sensation, but it was pretty clear to me after you rescued a person you will jump back in the water again for more people. The sense of fear and courage just rose in your heart, you shake, but you get the job done. A even more powerful adrenaline you will have when you put yourself in danger while saving people. It's a complicated line between foolishly put themselves at risk and actually suffered from risks. Its a blurry line, like the part of climbing a mountain. Some people say that its putting youself at risk, then should the people neglect those who are climbing the mountain? What if that's a sport of lots of people and people actually enjoy the climb?

Why Take Risks?
Life is a huge risk, everything around you is a risk. Drinking a bottle of tea of taking a piss is a risk taking activity. I don't remember what Krakaur said about the mountain climing expierence, but i believe climbing the mountain feels like challeging yourself and put yourself in great danger to see if you can survive it. Risk taking is like gambling, instead this time you're gambling your life. SOme people love the thrill of losing in ganbling. The pump of adrenaline gives them a sensation that's even better than winning. When you loses, your brain reacts to the sensation completly different to that of winning. it makes you want to play more, win more and not lose. While you win, you don't feel that much of an urge to keep playing. You don't want to win all the time, the different sensation provided by winning is not so addictive as to the one Losing provides. When you take on a risk, its a bet of your life. You can win something that's better than what you have now, and you might lose everything.

Cause and Effect
The story into thin air is filled with causes and effects, one event leads to the others tragedy, since in a place with no oxygen, no food, no sleep, and you're constantly ar risk, every descision counts. Lack of Oxygen for Krakaur was released when his friend twisted the oxygen gauge to full. However, it led to the next event where eventually he have no more oxygen, he had to hold position all the way till he is down at the SOuth Summit. The bad weather were caused by the blizzard, which led to the death of 20 or 25 people all throughout Krakaur's trip. The snow caused the mask of his friend blocked, he was unable to see anything and was left on top of the mountain. The action of slipping down the slope on the hilary steps was a quick descent down to the base camp. THe lack of food, and oxygen led to dizziness. The dizziness then led to depression of the whole trip, resulting in no happiness of climbing to the top but depressed and felt like a terrible dream. the whole story is connected by a series of events that leads from one to another. Each descitsion counts, as it might mean the other one's survival of reaching the top and climb back down safely.

Compare Disasters
Great differences in the two story. While titanic is much more tragic and dangerous of dying, its told in such boring and dull fashion that no one could seemed to feel the tension of the people. Even though the people are unconsicious of the situation that they were in, but the story telling just totally lost the feeling of tension in the use of words and the way each event happened in the story. The band are playing musics, the people feel like they're having a picnic. In Krakaur's disaster, the tension kept getting built up. The description of the whole surrounding event. The snow that surrounded him and the terrible blizzard that's about to come to kill half of his crew. The feeling of death slowly creeps into our spines and the chilling wind of the mountain being blew slowly up our whole body and the chilling effects of the story. Nothing of this feeling had been expressed in the story titanic. It totally lacked emotions inside, the sense of terror in the eyes of the passenger and the freezing temeprature of the sea are all neglected.

Taking a Leap
When can taking risk help a person do the right thing? There is not answer to that question, it's a matter of free response for everyone's personal descisions of how to save a life or when to save a life. Sacrifice, its a hard word to be explain on the part of what do you sacrifice for someone. anything you sacrifice, and i mean anything, as long as you have a heart for it can counts as something. A crappy handmade card that you put all of your time and energy into it for someone special or someone important could mean great value. Giving up things like their lives are really great, but little things could also make a great contribution to the people around you. I have several friends that sacrifice their time for me, like Patrick. We both sacrifice some of our time or money to help the other one to achieve one of their goals or go somewhere together. When he have a girl he likes, i might sacrifice my time to help her get a date or think about ways on making them a new little bf gf. He sacrifice his time to go out with me on buying a shoe, or fix my ring. We sacrifice our books or some retarded things and make a good laugh out of it. Anything could be sacrificed and create a little or huge impact on another person.
Perspective
Are perspective is like what we believe in. Some people's perspective to killing people might be cruel, some people might belive it is natural. Maybe some people will even think is fun. WHen you ask these three different kinds of people to write an article on the massacre of a group of people, the three of them will have different opnions. Their way of describing the whole situation might be different. The people that hates killing might included all kinds of emotions mixed inside the subjects of their writing. Describing the fear that is express in the helpless people or the painful look shooting out from the eyes of a innocent child. The one that loved to kill might express the whole situation totally different. The love of blood splattering action, the royal depiction of the people slaughtering the hopeless people. The proudness of the strong and the weak and feeble child being massacred. Both the same event, both completly different depiction of the event. One might make you feel extremely sad, another could make you feel the sense of pride of being the strong.
Humor’s Role
I strongly believe that this entry's quesiton is going to be on the test for typhoid ffever. Have you ever heard of the expression "all hope is lost"? usually in a movie, something like this would happen and suddenly a little mere discovery of something they could use against the enemy turns the whole situation of the main character different. WHile the thing that they discover was probably a everyday object that people threw on the ground. When all happiness is eliminated in the story Typhoid fever, a little humor in the story overrun by saddness could light the whole situation up. The main character Frankie have no life at all, no life. His stuck in a hospital, battling against death everyday and the boring nuns that wouldn't even allow laughter in the hospital. What is there to life? So when some simple joke like mimicing someone's voice that happens just about everyday in our life and we find it stupid happens in a life like Frankie, it makes him laugh. Everything seems too tragic already, nothing could go worse and a little humor can make people laugh
Risk
To some extent, risk feels the same way as a challenge. When you face risk when doing something, it requires you to give it all you got. I find people who like to take on competitions also take on risks. When something gets dangerous, some people like to try if they could succeed without being harmed. It's a self test of another kind, to test yourself's capability of achieving something brand new. When something is dangerous, the feeling of challenge rises, the challenge would mean no failure. You will be playing with your own life during a adventure that involves risks. I find risks in an event also interesting since not that people are willing to take risks. 8 out of 10 people might not want to risk their lives or a personal belingings of them for a risk. With that little people willing to take risks, much of the risk involved challenges haven't been done by anyone. It's a whole new expierence that you are new to, and you are opening a new page for the history of humans that you might be the first to accomplish the challenge. When an adventure that involves risks, it means the same way. You might be on the way on discovering the 8th wonder of the world or extraordinary sights of some lost civilization that no one had foudn or discovered before. However, to achive this goal of discoverign something new or extremely beautiful, you will be crossing land or sea where no one had set foot into and the great unknown would be everywhere.
Participation
I believe Journalists are like a scribe, they record things down the waay they see it. Whatever things appeared in front of them, they are to copy down exactly what happened. I think as long as the actual thing is included, the emotional terms such as, this is too sad could be included. However anything that have to involve criticizing some other people should not be included. I think a easy way to separate the actual event and one's own individual repsonse to something could be done from writing the technical aspects of the event. When you write technical, describing how everything happens and how many people died without including any emotion if achivable. If the journalist want to include their own emotions, they should just write a new book rather than included all in on report.
Being a participant of the even and a observer depends on one's actions. If you are at the event, and you could do something to help the people from it and you choose not to, you're the emotionless guy. When you are in the event, you are in the surrounding that could change something of the event, even if its lifting a log from the fallen ship or carry someone out. You're an observer if you are blocked away from the event. You are only able to watch the event happen, such as away from a window or 2, 3 streets away from the event where you can't alter any to the event.

Free Write
Since today is freewrite, i have decided that my topic is going to be freewrite, i have quite a terrible day so i will express everything down. First thing that almost killed my life, the canceling of the Kantine trip. When i heard about the news that they have cancelled the trip, i couldn't believe my ears. I felt like my brain just got rammed over by tanks everywhere and my conscience went flat. I was furious and esperate by how incredibly stupid the people from our school is. 9500 for a trip down to Kantine, 3 days 2 night including the tuna season, a five star hotel, a bus to travel and ride in, the beach, the barbecues, the snorkling and who knows what other stuff are included in this great awesome slmost end of the semester summer pack, and they blew it. These people ahve abolutly no life, no life at all. They have no idea how incredible a deal like this is, and imagine the amount of fun it is to go down to Kantine with all your friends. I mean, you usually go to a place like this with your family, you only get to travel with friends when you grow up or during a graduation trip. Here we are, 10th grade with no field trip for 2 years and now you blew the trip on account of your stupid brains couldn't coping with this awesome price. What is wrong with the school? not just the school, the people in my bio class are all boring dumbasses that rather spent their trip time here in the school having another bio test. I didn't know Mr. Lindamen very well when he first came to this school, i thought his some fat old guy sitting in fron of the tv eating nachos everyday, but no. He loves to go out and have fun, every break we have had his leaving his house and out for some sunshine and bikinis. That was one of the reason i wanted to go on this trip, he knows how to enjoy life. I want to enjoy the one and maybe only trip i will be having in the summer. I have decided to study hard on summer for my SAT and hopefully this trip could soothe my brain. Oh well, the plan is lost because of thier rotted book brains. Fantastic. Next terrible thing, i just discovered that one of my favorite artist died. Nujabes, a hip hop, jazz musician died in February and i didn't know about that. I have been waiting for a new album or release everyday soon but this shocking news blew my world in pieces. "Counting Stars" his best song is now the legandary song of Jazz Hip Hip. No other song from him could ever take its place anymore. WHY did he have to die, couldn't god allow him to stay with us a little more just another album or a legandary music before he reclaim his personal DJ away? Now that i know this news, i have set one of my bucket list to climing the Fuji mountain and listen to this song repeated over and over again with the best headphones ever. I have a dream, where i can listen to his songs nonstop, the soothing music could cool off anyone's heart. Mr. Mmccool, if you are reazding this whole 200 word journal, i guarantee you, you need to listen to this song. Just listen to this song with a beer in your hand and chilling out on the sofa could be one of your best pastimes since today on. Who knows, maybe i won't be just climing Mt. Fuji, i might just climb all the mountain in Japan and listen to his song on the mountain. On the way, i will be listening to Ayur" I miss you" a song associated to Nujabes, one of my favorite and lots of anime have since used his song as their opening or ending song. The fantastic melody just strings in your head, wrapping around your soul again and again until you choke with tears sliding of your cheeks. The soul grabbing melody spins again and again around everyone and you room, before you know it you have already listen to it millions of time. Not even knowing when should you stop. My apology to this sudden and bizarre topic to the journal, but i have decided to dedicate this journal to Nujabes, may you live a great life in heaven and continue your soul resurrecting melodies. May the angels sing and bless with the melodies of your music far in heaven. We will all miss you, and your legend will never be overunned by anyone. Not rock, not lady gaga or lady antebellum, definetily not some stupid flo rida or justin bieber. For they could not create a lasting memory of songfs that could resurrect their souls, for their music are only a mere 4 minute joy that doesn't leave a sweet and bitter taste in your soul that asks for more.

A Challenge
Yes, all kinds, i love things that makes me use my brain not in an annoying way like math. I would love to do it if it wasn't for the tests and all those stabdardilized crap. Everything around your life could be a challenge, either it is trying out something that you have never done before or taking up a responsibility. Challenges are never limited to physical challenges, brain challenges or something in life would mean a challenge as well.
I love challenges, to me challenges are a way to improve my personal attributes and increase my knowledge and expierence to the world. I would like to take up responsibilities and try my best to do a great job on it. If i fail, then i could try better next time or ask for opinion on how to past these challenges. Doing x sport such as snowboarding or skateboarding is like a challenge. Everytime you do a trick you risk falling down, every trick you do you have to try your best to do it clean and perfect. You challenge yourself to do the best or some insane trick that might break your leg. Climbing a mountain like mout. Everest is a challenge. It requires you to go to extreme measures of oxygen level and facing the crazy temperatures. Watching a super scary movie that challenges your guts to the extreme and make you scared, that's a form of challenge as well. Without challenges, life is boring, nothing to make your heart beat rise and feel energetic to give it all you got. Challenges adds that extra splice of spiciness to your life that makes your life go up and down, it's what separates people from ordinary and legends. Legendary people take up challenges, they challenge themselves to things no one has ever done or doesn't have the guts to do it. It separates the people from cowards and heroes. Challenges requires a person to reach to his extreme and break their limits, if it doesn't require to break one's limits and improve, it's not a challenge.

Highwayman
To be honest, i wasn't really paying attention to how the poem connected all together, i just feel a saddness inside the story that seeps throught everything about the moon, the coat, the sword. I find the two character very simliar, tragically simliar. I agree with Seamus about the two characters to have the same similiarity. Both character had a tragic life, they lost their love ones, being pulled away by force and one of them died. Frankie met his loved one in a hospital with dying patients, he never had the chance to take a look on her little lover's face while they only had such little time to spend with each other. A teenager had to face tragic situations like that is unbelivably painful. I remember something tragic happened in the end of the highwayman story too, i can't remember who died. In Frankie's story, he gets pulled away from his little lover, and a few days later she died. How worst could life be? Just when he was about to find the little splice in life that he could move along, he loses her. Just when he still had the hope of finding her when he grows up, she died. How much sadder could the story be? I find a great sorrow in my heart that kind of weeps for the poor kid.
