Analyzing Visuals
Looking at the picture, it portraits the titanic tilting and sinking in to the water with a incredible curve moving down into the water. The lights inside the boat from the paingint are so small. Comparing the vast background painted of the dark night, showing how lonely the titanic was sinking alone down in the water. The lights radiated from the ship are so dim and little while the night and ocean are vast and dark that could suck humanity in. It features the two life boats in the fron as there are people discussing on what are their next step. Two man stand on the boat talking to each other for solutions to this situation. I'm thinking the painter purposly painted only two boats to show how little people survive from the tragic accident. While the boat started sinking down in the water, all over the boat are people jumping down into the water and people grabbing hold of the rails to prevent themselves from falling in the water. When looking at the picture, it provides a better image of how the accident occured. The vast ship and the tiny people on it all falling down and dying. Hopeless people sits on the lifeboats cold and scared for their fate. It gives ame a strong sense of how the nature are overpowering the abilities of mankind, even the greatest and biggest ship could crash. The perspective of the painting was drawn as if this is the view of another survivor sitting in another life boat.
